| Inside Hogwarts |
| Entrance Hall
Double oak front doors, opening to the west. Large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceiling so high it's barely visible. Wide marble staircase opposite the front doors (east wall) leads up to first floor. Double doors to the right (south wall) lead into the Great Hall. On the east wall are two doors, one on either side of the staircase. To the north of the staircase is a door leading down a flight of steps to the first dungeon level. To the south is a door leading to the kitchens.

| Hallways
The hallways of Hogwarts can leave you in many different directions. You could start on the third floor and some how end up on the fourth. You just need to be careful not to end up where you shouldn't be.

| The Library
The Hogwarts library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. Included in its many sections is an Invisibility Section, a section with information about dragons, and a Restricted Section at the back, set off with a rope. A signed note from a teacher is required to peruse that section of the library; it contains books of Dark Magic only used by older students studying advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts. One of the books in this section screams when opened.

| Hospital Wing
Do you need medical attention? Did you get hurt? Or have an accident in class? Come to the hospital wing and get fixed right up! A long line of beds, screens available for privacy.

| Room of Requirements
The Room of Requirement is a magical room which can only be discovered by someone who is in need. It is called the Come and Go Room by the house-elves of Hogwarts. To make the Room appear, a person has to walk past the section of blank wall three times concentrating hard on what is needed.

| The Front Gate
The front gate is at the beginning of the path to Hogwarts, contacting Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. Statues of winged boars stand at the main of them.

| The Courtyard
The courtyard is right in the center of the school. A great place to just meet up with some friends, specially for heading down to hogsmeade. Or just a place to sit and relax.

| The Lawns
There is a wide flat lawn opposite the castle from the forest and Gamekeeper's hut where the First Years took their first flying lesson. The sloping lawns lead down toward the forest and border the lake. Come to the lawns to have a picnic or hang out, play some muggle sports if you want to as well!

| Gameskeeper's Hut
The Gamekeeper and Keeper of the Keys lives in a small wooden house on the edge of the forbidden forest. A crossbow and a pair of galashes were outside the front door...There was only one room inside. Hams and pheasants were hanging from the ceiling, a copper kettle was boiling on the open fire, and in the corner stood a massive bed with a patchwork quilt over it.

| The Owlery
The Owlery was a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows had glass in them. The floor was entirely covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles. Hundreds upon hundreds of owls of every breed imaginable were nestled here on perches that rose right up to the top of the tower, nearly all of them asleep, though here and there a round amber eye glared.

| The Black Lake
Located to the south of the castle, which stands on a cliff overlooking the water. The lake is approximately a half-mile in diameter. Careful not to run into the giant squid, merfolk, or grindylows.

| The Whomping Willow
The Whomping Willow is a very valuable, very violent tree planted alone in the middle of the school grounds. It was planted to disguise the opening to a secret passage from Hogwarts to the Shrieking Shack. There is a way to temporarily paralyze the tree. There is a particular knot on the trunk which can be pressed using a long branch in order to stop the attacks.

| The Forbidden Forest
To the east of Hogwarts castle is a large, dark forest. This forest is strictly off limits to Hogwarts students, except in the course of occasional Care of Magical Creatures lessons or detentions. The forbidden forest is sometimes referred to as the Forbidden Forest but often as just "the forest." The forest is thick with trees as well as undergrowth but there are paths, brooks, and some clearings. Off the path, the way is almost impassable, although people have moved through it and creatures as large as Acromantulas and a Ford Anglia have managed to get around.

| Quidditch Pitch
Quidditch is big at Hogwarts. Each House fields a team, which includes the seven players and often one or two reserve players as well. The teams have a team captain who not only plays but also acts as coach. The captain leads practices, devises strategies, and sees to the induction of new players into the team. Quidditch tryouts are typicallyduring the second week of the school year, although the exact day and time are up to the captain to determine.
